My teaching philosophy is founded on the idea of building relationships and meaningful connections with my students, and those connections should begin on day one. Because of this, I will be able to differentiate my instruction to best fit each of my students' unique learning needs. While doing this, I must hold my students to high, but achievable standards. Finally, I believe that students learn best through hands-on learning that inspires their creativity, wonder, and curiosity. My goal is for my students to leave my classroom, excited to find out what they will discover next.
Classroom Management Philosophy
My classroom management plan is based creating relationships to build a school family. Students should be provided structure in the classroom as well as classroom expectations and procedures to be followed throughout the year. These expectations and procedures should be practiced every day until they become routines. I also believe in the importance of creating a classroom environment in which my students feel both safe and welcome. I expect that my students contribute to make the classroom a safe and welcome environment, one that encourages them to keep it this way. I believe that if my students work together to create a school family and model the classroom values they will find joy in learning.
